Growth in consumer awareness owing to specially
designed awareness programmes and powerful direct
selling techniques has rendered a new dimension
to the marketing of consumer products. Basic formulations
like paracetamol, cough syrups, ayurvedic preparatory
medicines and other external applications like oils
and creams have managed to reach the consumer more
easily than ever before, changing the face of the
pharma market.
We have kept pace
with this development by making a major foray into
the burgeoning Over-the-Counter (OTC) segment by
planning to roll out our range of 7 to 8 products.
The products on offer cover segments like pain management,
stress management, skincare, nutraceuticals and
diabetes control.
The OTC market
is currently valued at Rs.3,600 crore and offers
a good opportunity for growth. Initially, we plan
to roll out our OTC drive in Tamil Nadu and Kerala
markets and will soon expand to other markets as
well.
Our R&D team
is in the process of developing several other OTC
formulations which would be rolled out in the market
soon. We also have plans to market our products
in the overseas market. We have already filed necessary
papers in Malaysia and Kenya to launch our products
this year. We will also file papers with the Sri
Lanka Government for marketing our products there.
